Inventory

Promisec’s inventory module provides comprehensive software and hardware inventory for 100% of the endpoints in the networks. Promisec’s tools can provide inventory scans for common issues, such as licenses or hardware requirements for upgrades, as well as total inventory for auditing purposes. Promisec can provide templates for professional auditing bodies to perform inventory according to almost any industry standard. On-the-fly auditing allows administrators to determine specific parameters for inventory reports within minutes.

Software inventory

Promisec provides a complete list of installed applications that includes the exact number, where they are installed and when they were last accessed. Administrators can use standard views, or define specific inventory searches, for example, to determine the number of licenses that should be paid for.

The following information is available for all endpoints in the network:

•    Host name

•    IP address

•    Last logged user

•    Last Accessed

•    Application name

•    Application vendor

•    Application versions

•    Number of instances in the organization

•    Number of licenses – entered by the user and saved to the configuration

Hardware Inventory

Hardware inventory is of crucial importance for companies. In large companies with average employee turnover, it’s difficult for the IT department to keep track of what hardware is running on the network. This information is crucial for budget and support planning. Knowing what hardware is available can affect software upgrades, impact the time required for supporting users, and assist in crucial decision-making and planning.

Without Promisec, companies are dependent on either manual inventory processes or heavy programs that are dependent on Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI). While WMI can provide much of the information required, it is resource-dependent and takes time.

Promisec’s solution does not depend on WMI for its hardware inspection process, and therefore can provide hardware inventory in under 6 seconds per computer. A scan of an entire enterprise takes only a matter of hours, providing fully accurate and complete reports of every computer on the enterprise network.
